2 for 1. Busy but good! (and the sequel....) We are on fire!!

--someone didn't around to posting last week..... maybe Blake?.... anywho... here we go, 2 wks worth--

BUSY BUT GOOD!!

Hello. SO this week was really busy for us with transfers and truck and MLC, but the lord did really bless us this week.

Tuesday we had to take the truck in because it wasn't going into reverse and that is a problem............ So we got back to our are late ,but still had some nice lessons. Wednesday was transfer day so we had to go to kampala go back to entebbe, go back to Kampala, get some lunch, move some luggage around and finally come back to Entebbe. It was good though. NO one got hurt.

Thursday we finally had a full day in our area and we used it well. WE had a lesson when a chicken came into the living room as we were teaching so the investigator gets up and catches the screaming chicken and throws it out the door........... Only in Africa, yet it feels so normal now. haha.

also we did some finding and we came across some guys and started talking to them. They welcomed us and so we asked if there was anyone else that would like to join us and slowly by slowly they picked sisters, daughters, neighbors, friends and by the end we had like 15 people gathered around us ready to learn. It was pretty cool. It was a nice lesson as well.

ON friday we went to Kampala again to have MLC. It was really powerful! Elder Grant is the new AP and he was awesome. Learned a lot from that! ALso went to a nice buffet afterwards and ate well.

Saturday, we got back to our area. Did some planning for the week and for the transfer. It is going to be a great transfer. We taught some awesome lessons and went to Kajjansi for a baptism interview. I found out if you talk really fast. The american missionaries can understand what you say, but the people can't. It is actually pretty funny...... THey get mad at you because they can't understand.

Sunday we had an awesome day. A lot of our investigators came to church, but they all left before the last class. Priesthood and Relief Society get kind of boring........It was good though. Mary got confirmed and is really doing well. We got fed lunch. Really nice. We have some baptisms looking good for the 19th of March so that is awesome. Things are good right now. We did some window shopping today. Negotiating here is not easy. They want to rip you off........    It makes it fun though. haha.

Something I learned and like a lot this week was something that was said in MLC. That we don't need to be mechanical. We shouldn't just do the same thing over and over and just go through the motions. TRYING SOMETHING NEW AND FUN. ASKING THE LORD WHAT WE CAN DO BETTER.  It can bring joy and happiness in our lives and especially the spirit. The lord created us to be creative and to be different. Don't get stuck in the same old rut. Make things new and fun, but LET THE SPIRIT GUIDE YOU. I testify that the spirit will guide us in our lives. Have a great week. Love you.

WE ARE ON FIRE!!!

So this week was great. Missionary Work is going well.
It started out on Tuesday that we got bounced a bit in the late afternoon and we were again wondering what to do, so what did we do..... We prayed and asked God what we needed to do. I felt like we needed to go to this area and Elder Andersen felt like in that area we need to go to this specific place in that area. We did some finding, but got shut down at first and then when we were about to go to our next appointment we decided we were there for more than just that and we contacted one more house and the people we met we are teaching now a husband and wife and a brother to the husband. Crazy. It is so simple. Pray and ask God and he will guide you. It is always the last person you talk to. haha.

Also on Wednesday we had a really nice ZDM as a zone. The Unity is awesome right now. I also sang were all in this together with dancing for a training so thank you sisters for watching High School Musical..... Let us say it caught the attention of the missionaries, but definitely never doing it again... haha.  (What in the world, He sang in front of other people?  Awesome!)

ON thursday we had exchanges. I was with Elder Mambou. He is from Congo, but lives in South Africa. Really fun day. Great missionary. The lord is bringing people to us and it seems like our investigators are bringing people to us to teach. It is awesome!

Sunday was a great day. We had a ward conference which was really nice. A lot of powerful people from the Stake came. It was good for the investigators. We are doing a lot of great work. We are just getting a lot of people close to baptism, but something is holding them back. We are getting a lot of cool people right now and we are praying to find a way to get them to become official members. IT is fun. Elder Andersen and I have been looking back and seeing how everything seems to work out and how we find and teach people. It is amazing how everything seems to work out together and it is not us, but the Master putting it together. It was an awesome week.

This week the theme for the conference in the Ward was... Obedience brings blessings. It is so simple, but yet we sometimes forget about it. When we are obedient and put God first. Whether on the Sabbath or tithing, or anything. The Lord will bless us and provide for us. It is so simple and it ALWAYS WORKS! IT is a divine law. We will never not receive blessings when we keep the commandments. Obedience brings blessings. Have a great week. Love you.

MOM QUESTIONS...
1. What do you think of your cousin makell going to czech slavak mission and speaking slavak?

I think that is sweet! I couldn't do that.......... But she is a lot better than me so she can handle it. Missions are awesome! It will be a great mission but not the best because she is not in the UKM...ha ha

2.  Have you been to a funeral in uganda?  How are they different or the same as in the US?

I have been to one in Rwanda, but not Uganda. It was different because they recorded and took pictures of everything. They had a camera in the face of the family crying their eyes out as the person was buried that seemed weird. Also they have pastors pray and do weird stuff. I like the USA Church ones better.

3.  If you had a lot of money in Uganda, what would you buy?

UMMmmmmmm. I don't know. Nice food....... Clothes........ GO a see cool things....... Get cool paintings............ I am not really sure... I found out that I am not good at spending money.......

4.  Birthday package going out this week?  need anything specific?

Neutragena face wash.....Candy......... Cake mixes......... Frosting........Beef Jerky.......A bag of Sunflower seeds flavored.... Just suggestions

5.  Have you bought any clothes over there, if so , what?

I bought some african pattern shirts. I am probably going to buy a custom suit. Maybe some other things. Clothes are cheap here.

6. We had a lesson on Grace this Sunday.  I am amazed and in awe of Grace. It is for all and enables us to become all that we can.  We don't earn heaven but learn heaven through grace...to become like the Savior. The talk for the lesson was recent one by Uchtdorf and then one by Brad Wilcox.  What are you studying?

I am glad you read that talk by Dieter f. Uchtdorf because I read that same talk. It is a really good talk and I enjoyed it a lot. I am going through Uchtdorf's talks for the last few conferences right now. The words of modern prophets and apostles are becoming my favorite to study right now.....I will study that talk again and more about Grace.
